IBCLC Lactation Consultant

🌿 What is an IBCLC?

An IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) is a healthcare professional who specialises in infant feeding and lactation.

In simple terms, I support parents with feeding their baby — whether that’s breastfeeding, combination feeding, expressing, bottle feeding breastmilk, or navigating challenges along the way.

As an IBCLC, I am trained to help with:

  • Painful or sore feeding
  • Latch and positioning
  • Low milk supply or oversupply
  • Tongue-tie concerns
  • Feeding a newborn, premature baby, or older infant
  • Feeding after a difficult birth
  • Returning to work and expressing
  • Protecting milk supply while introducing bottles

IBCLCs are internationally recognised, work to strict professional standards, and use evidence-based guidance. It’s the highest level of qualification in lactation support, and my role is to offer calm, non-judgemental, personalised care that supports you and your baby.

Feeding support is rarely a one-off event. Booking two appointments allows time to gently assess, implement changes, and review how things are working for you and your baby, helping you feel more confident and supported over time.

Appointments are 60–90 minutes and include four weeks of WhatsApp support, allowing time for thorough assessment, implementation, and reassurance. Feeding support often benefits from review and gentle adjustments over time, which is why many families choose to book two appointments together. When booked as a pair, appointments are offered as a continuity-of-care package, providing extended support and better overall value than booking individual sessions.
