Postnatal Midwifery Care
My postnatal care and support services differ from mainstream service provision… I offer more of my time, knowledge and experience in an evidence and relationship based manner.
Once your baby arrives with you earthside I visit you the day after you arrive home (if you birthed in the hospital), or if you had a homebirth, I will get to you ASAP.
Visits commonly last 1 – 2 hours, and are spread across approximately 4-6 weeks and you receive up to 14 visits in total. Some families prefer just the occasional one off visit or book in a block of 2 weeks only….. The beauty of working this way means that my services are bespoke tailored to you.
During visits I;
- Carry out clinical/ physical health checks on yourself and your baby including; blood pressure, pulse, temp, perineal check, abdominal check etc.
- Emotional and relatable support
- Whatsapp access 18 hours a day
- Newborn care guidance & confidence building in regards to feeding/caring for baby, co sleeping etc.
- Baby gets all the usual checks including day 5 weight and newborn bloodspot screening
All of this takes place at your home, in your fourth trimester where you belong.
I also offer mix and match packages of enhanced IBCLC breastfeeding support to compliment the postnatal experience and I collaborate with a local Osteopath, trained in Cranial Osteopathy for babies to truly give holistic full feeding support.
